Moms to Meet: Tara Kirby

Hello, hello!

We are so excited to be celebrating wonderful women this week: our mothers, daughters, sisters, friends, coworkers, grandmothers, wives, cousins, and aunts. Today, we laud a lovely lady who is breaking past the status quo and building an incredible business with her darling husband, adorably sassy daughter, and a new arrival coming this month!

Please welcome Tara Kirby, or as she's known online, Ms. Tara Brooke, our friend, colleague, and generally lovely human being.

Can you share a bit about your unique journey to motherhood with us? How has it changed you and your life? We want everyone to know a little bit about who you are!

I was full focused on building my career and started my Be More Brand only a few weeks before I found out I was pregnant single with my first babe. I was single at the time and knowing I had more responsibility than ever & that it was up to me to provide for my babe helped me focus on my work. 2 weeks before my baby was born I was able to quit my full time job & to work fully for myself and learn the "balance" of a working single mom! 2.5 years later I am still self employed, I've opened a 5400 square foot creative space in the heart of Provo and am now married and die with my second baby any moment!! Working for myself is a constant balancing game, but the flexibility I've found is unmatched being able to be with my babies on my terms.

Are there women in your life that have helped shape and mold you into who you are today? How have they done so?

I have been insanely blessed I have amazing women in my life who inspire me & have shaped me! My mom has always been an amazing example of hard work & a positive attitude no matter your circumstances! She's worked my entire life with no complaint & continues to work hard for our family! Friends I've found in my adult life, through work & my social media community are constantly inspiring me with their creativity & innovation in their fields (Wesley Bird, The Alison Show, the EHD team, Ashley Hess, Jalynn Schroeder just to name a few)

What's your own proudest accomplishment as a mother?

Proudest accomplishment? Ugh that's hard! I think figuring out how to provide the best life I could for my little one while I was on my own living in a state with no family help! You realize how resilient you are when your life situation isn't what you expected it to be!

We all know it's nearly impossible to find the perfect balance in motherhood. What are your best tips about how to balance responsibilities, children, the works?

It's okay to ask for help! Call that babysitter, accept that meal from your friend! You don't have to do it all alone! Also, if you're working set yourself a manageable schedule & own it! I've found when I prioritize my time I accomplish more. When you're working work! When you're momming mom! Quality over quantity always.

What do you want your kids to remember about you or their childhood in 30 years?

I hope they always know I loved them completely. I hope they learn the value hard work, following their dreams and that they know everything I did was to give them their best possible life.

We are always looking for fabulous mom products. And products that have helped you as you've become a mother?

I wasn't able to breastfeed my 1st & I discovered the Baby Brezza, it's basically a keurig for formulas & it SAVED me from mixing bottles for late night feedings. If you're a formula momma this is a LIFESAVER!

The biggest thank you to Tara for taking the time to chat with us a little about her life as a rockstar mom and the fiercest of business owners. Pop by to check out her ventures here or visit her on Instagram (we highly recommend keeping on eye on her stories, because her cutest little one is really the star of the show).
